A quiet place for difficult moments

Try a grounding exercise: name 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste. Go slowly.

If things feel unsafe right now

You don't have to wait or explain yourself. Help is a tap away.

Understanding what you're feeling

Learn

Plain-language notes on common struggles — not a diagnosis, just a starting point.

Depression

A persistent low mood, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, low energy, or trouble concentrating, lasting most days for two weeks or more.

Try this: pick one small, doable task today — a shower, a short walk, one message to a friend. Small actions can help even when motivation is low.

Anxiety

Ongoing worry, restlessness, a racing heart, or a sense of dread that doesn't match what's actually happening around you.

Try this: slow your breathing — in for 4 counts, hold for 4, out for 6. Repeat five times.

Loneliness

Feeling disconnected from others, even when people are around — often harder to talk about than other struggles.

Try this: one small, low-pressure reach-out today — a text, a voice note, joining a support group session.

Stress

Feeling overloaded by demands — work, money, family — often showing up as tension, irritability, or trouble sleeping.

Try this: write down everything on your mind, then circle only what needs doing today. The rest can wait.

Abuse & unsafe relationships

Abuse can be physical, emotional, financial, or sexual, and it's never the fault of the person experiencing it.

Try this: if it's safe to do so, save the GBV Command Centre number (0800 428 428) somewhere private, in case you need it quickly.

Substance use

Using alcohol or other substances to cope is common, and reaching out for support is a strength, not a failure.

Try this: notice and log your cravings in the tracker — patterns often reveal the situations that trigger them.
